Lead Pre-K 2 / Kindergarten & School-Age Teacher
My name is Angela Everett (Miss Angela) and I am the lead Pre-K 2 teacher during the school year. During the summer months, I am the co-lead teacher for our Summer Camp program.I have been working at Brookside for 5 and 1/2 years. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a concentration in Early Childhood from Kutztown University in May 2006.I have been working with children in daycare settings as well as school settings as a substitute teacher. I enjoy working with children and watching them grow into who they are when they leave Brookside. It is fun to see their creativity and imagination in full swing during free time and centers.I have been married for 6 years this August to my husband, Larry. We just had a baby girl, Savannah in September 2015. She attends Brookside in the Pre-Toddler. We have a house in Slatington, PA and have been living there for a little over a year.In my free time, I enjoy shopping or relaxing. I love spending time with my family and friends any chance I get. I love spending time with my nephew who turned two in July- he is always on the go and always smiling 🙂 Every year I look forward to the new faces in my classrooms as well as at the center. Discovering their personalities is a joy I always find when starting in a new room.If you ever have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me, whether I am in Pre-K 2 or in the Kindergarten/School-Age classrooms. I look forward to working with you and your child this school year!
Assistant Pre-K 2 Teacher
My name is Kelly Heffner. I am the Assistant Teacher in the Pre-Kindergarten 2 classroom. I will be starting my fourth year here at Brookside. Before coming to Brookside I worked in the Pre-School department at Swain School and also at Nativity Lutheran Childcare Center for 8 years in all areas from the pre-school room to the school-age room. I have one child, which happens to be my cat “Patty”. In my spare time I have been involved with many local theatre groups over the past years. I one the reasons I enjoy working here at Brookside is seeing many of the children as they grow with us from the Infant room through to the School-Age room.
